How to Make Air Fryer Pizza
The general method for making homemade pizza in an air fryer is as follows:
In the air fryer, cook the crust for three minutes. You can achieve a crispy bottom without overcooking the toppings by precooking the crust!
Pizza is assembled in the air fryer. Making a pizza and then transferring it to the air frying basket would be too difficult due to the layout of most air fryers. You can then add the toppings to the dough that has already been cooked in the air fryer. You may be able to assemble the pizza outside of the air fryer if it has a front-opening door, similar to a mini oven.)
At 375 degrees Fahrenheit, cook for about 7 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and the crust is golden brown.
Eat the pizza after it has cooled (it will be piping hot!)
The magic of making personal pan pizzas, which this recipe makes two of, allows everyone to enjoy pizza “our way.” The options for toppings are virtually limitless, and these air-fried pizzas are incredibly simple to prepare and personalize.
Ingredients
- olive oil spray for cooking
- 1 package of chilled pizza dough, such as Pillsbury®, weighing 13.8 ounces
- Divided six tablespoons of pizza sauce
- 10 ounces destroyed mozzarella cheddar, partitioned
- 14 pepperoni slices, divided
- 12 cup chopped onion (optional)
- sprinkle of dried basil and red pepper pieces (discretionary)
Directions
- For five minutes, heat the air fryer to 380 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius). To prevent sticking, either spray the air fryer basket with olive oil or line it with parchment paper.
- Cut the crust in half after removing it from the can. Make a circle with each piece of dough and crimp the edges to make a crust. Verify that it will fit in the basket of your air fryer. Transfer one pizza crust carefully to the basket of the air fryer and lightly spray it with olive oil spray. Precook the dough for three minutes by poking it with a fork.
- 7 to 9 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and the crust is crispy and golden brown. Keep in mind that your air fryer’s brand and size can affect how long it takes to cook food, so check frequently to make sure nothing burns or overcooks. Use the second pizza crust to carry out the procedure. Serve warm.
The Cook’s Notes:
The air fryer is the easiest way to assemble the pizza. It ensures that it will cook through at the same time as the toppings and is easier to handle.
When the mozzarella cheese has melted, I like to sprinkle a little more on top of the pizza, which helps keep the toppings in place and prevents them from flying everywhere.
Place the first pizza in the oven at the lowest temperature possible to keep it warm while you cook the second one. Set the air fryer to 325 degrees Fahrenheit (165 degrees Celsius) and cook the leftovers for about 4 minutes to reheat them.
